چکیده

Temporomandibular disorder (TMD) encompasses a set of disorders involving the masticatory muscles, temporomandibular joint and associated structures. It is complex biopsychosocial with several triggering, predisposing perpetuating factors. In etiology TMD, oral parafunctions, namely bruxism, play relevant role. The study bruxism complicated by some taxonomic diagnostic aspects that have prevented achieving an acceptable standardization diagnosis. aim this was to analyze prevalence in Portuguese sample.
